Sven A. Normann, Pharm.D.
Clinical Associate Professor
Sven Normann is Clinical Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida. He is the Director of the Working Professional Pharm.D. Program and Associate Dean for Distance, Continuing, and Executive Education. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Normann received his BS in Pharmacy degree from Creighton University and completed residency in hospital pharmacy at the Mayo Medical Center in Rochester, MN. Dr. Normann completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Toxicology at the University of California (UC Medical Center, San Diego and UC San Francisco). Prior to joining the full-time UF faculty in 1998, he was the Director of the Florida Poison Information Center in Tampa.
Dr. Normann served as a member of the United States Pharmacopeial Convention Advisory Panel on Clinical Toxicology and Substance Abuse from 1990-1995. He is a current member of the Research and Graduate Affairs Committee of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
Dr. Normann is a charter Diplomate of the American Board of Applied Clinical Toxicology. His research and areas of professional interest include clinical toxicology, substance abuse information, medication errors and patient safety, and hazardous materials information and response. He is also interested in distance education and lifelong learning in pharmacy.
