Randell Doty graduated with his Pharm.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1988. He finished a general clinical residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis Tennessee in 1989. He accepted an appointment in the department of Pharmacy Practice in 1989 and was the Associate Director of the Computer Applications in Pharmacy Center at the University of Florida until it closed in 1991. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice as well as the Director of Experiential Programs at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He coordinates the four early experiential courses as well as developing and scheduling all the senior student advanced practice experiences.
Activities and Interests
My areas of interest / research are: Educational and clinical software development. In particular simulations of pharmacy activities and clinical practice documentation systems. Pharmaceutical care in the community pharmacy setting. I have worked on multiple projects since 1989 designed to improve the ability of community pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care to their patients Professional experience programs. I coordinate all the early and advanced practice experiences for the College and enjoy implementation of new ideas in this form of training.
