Information for Prospective Students

Ph.D. Program Objectives:

The objectives of the Ph.D. program in Pharmacy Health Care Administration are:
  • To provide an environment that nurtures and stimulates the intellectual advancement of our students and faculty. This includes providing forums for discussion of ongoing research as well as issues affecting us as educators of health care professionals.
  • To provide a broad foundation in the social, psychological, economic and administrative aspects of medication development, testing, approval, production, marketing and use, and pharmacy's role in the distribution of medications use in society.
  • To teach appropriate research methods, including experimental, quasi-experimental and observational as well as qualitative methods.
  • To provide in-depth research training in at least one concentration area of study.
  • To provide training and experience in teaching.
