Software - First Bayes

What is First Bayes?

First Bayes is a teaching package for elementary Bayesian Statistics. It runs on IBM-PC compatibles under MS-Windows. N.B. First Bayes is intended as an aid to learning Bayesian Statistics, in conjunction with a course or suitable reading. It is not a self-contained course or tutor. I have also prepared a reading list on Bayesian Statistics.

First Bayes is offered free to anyone interested in teaching or learning Bayesian Statistics, provided it is not used for profit. It may be freely copied and distributed, provided that files have not been edited or altered in any way, and provided that no charge is made for distributing First Bayes. Requests to use First Bayes for any commercial purpose must be directed to me.

First Bayes is now available in two forms, one for standard Windows 3.1 or 3.11, and another for Windows 95, 98, 2000 and all more recent versions of Windows.

Download and installation instructions for First Bayes are included in the document 1b.doc in the zip file that can be downloaded at the site above. To install, follow the directions in section 2.4 on page 9 of this manual.
