Research Interests
My research interests focus on the control of neurotransmitter release in hypertension and aging. Specifically, we're interested in:
- Central and peripheral control of Norepinephrine release in hypertensive and normotensive animals, particularly as it relates to sodium and calcium interactions.
- Regulation of glutamate release in the central nervous system, especially in aging animals.
- Regulation and activity of presynaptic receptors in the control of neurotransmitter release.
My secondary focus is on education. Specifically:
- How do students learn
- The validity of Student evaluations of teaching
- Enhancing faculty student interactions in the classroom
