Dr. Richard Segal is professor and chair of health care administration at the University of Florida college of pharmacy. His research interests include disease management, outcomes research, pharmacoeconomics, quality improvement, particularly in the areas of drug prescribing, pharmaceutical care, drug use evaluation, and total quality management. In addition, he has authored a number of manuscripts in the areas of the socio-behavioral aspects of drug therapy and the psychology of the medications use process. He has authored or co-authored more than 80 published papers and has received regional and national awards for his research in the areas of clinical research, hospital practice research, and pharmacoeconomics. In 1999, Dr. Segal was also named by the University of Florida as a Research Foundation Professor.
