Dr. Lipowski received a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and practiced pharmacy in hospital, nursing home and community settings for 10 years. She returned to the University of Wisconsin and earned the masters and doctoral degrees. She joined the faculty at the University of Florida in 1990. Dr. Lipowski teaches elective courses in Pharmacy Management and Pharmaceutical Industry & Public Policy for student pharmacists and M.S. candidates in Pharmacy Regulation and Policy. She has contributed chapters to several texts and companion materials on these subjects. Her research interest is the decisions made by physicians, pharmacists and patients in the selection of pharmaceutical products and services. Dr. Lipowski was named the Donald C. Brodie Scholar-in-Residence for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in 2006, for the purpose of investigating practice-based research networks and their implications for pharmacy education and practice. She organized a national conference in February 2007, Embracing the PBRN Model to Improve Medication Use, which was funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Dr. Lipowski is Past-President of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science of the American Pharmacists Association and former AACP-AAAS Congressional Fellow. |
