Continuing Education

Welcome to the University of Florida College of Pharmacy Division of Continuing Pharmacy Education. Our goal is to develop and provide continuing pharmacy education activities for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that will enhance their professional competencies so they may provide optimal services to their patients in any practice setting.

Mission

The mission of our Continuing Pharmacy Education is to provide the highest quality, innovative post-graduate and continuing pharmacy education (CPE) for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to help enhance their professional competence for the ultimate benefit of the patients and clients they serve.

UFCOP offers programs to meet the requirements for relicensure in most states, courses for continuous lifelong learning, and Certificate Programs in Pharmacy to help practicing pharmacists develop skills in drug therapy management.

CPE Monitor (IMPORTANT)

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) recently introduced a new electronic recording and reporting system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. CPE Monitor is a national, collaborative effort by ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. It will also offer state boards of pharmacy the opportunity to electronically authenticate the CPE units completed by their licensees, rather than requiring pharmacists and technicians to submit their proof of completion statements upon request or for random audits.

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will receive a unique ID after setting up their e-Profile with NABP. Beginning in the latter part of 2011, they will provide their NABP e-Profile ID to the ACPE-accredited provider when they register for CPE or submit a request for credit. The system will then direct  electronic data from ACPE-accredited providers to ACPE and then to NABP, ensuring that CPE credit is officially verified by the providers. Once information is received by NABP, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to log in to access information about their completed CPE. Each pharmacist and pharmacy technician is required to have a unique ID number and use that number along with his/her birthdate (MMDD) in order to obtain CPE credit.
